What is Piles?

Piles are a disorder in which the blood vessels in or around the anus and the lower rectum become enlarged and irritated. The passage of bowel motions becomes irritated and strains the vein walls, causing edema.

The symptoms are:

•             Anal bleeding (bright red colour)

•             Pain or tenderness during defecation

•             Hard lump close to the anus

•             Itching of the anus

•             Mucous discharge from the anus
